Disposable vape bans in Europe have changed what many shops can put on the shelf. Belgium, France and the United Kingdom have all moved against single-use vapes, mainly because of youth vaping and battery waste. This guide summarises the disposable vape bans Europe has seen so far, what you can still sell in those markets and how to adjust your wholesale orders.

Which countries have disposable vape bans in Europe?
Belgium
Belgium became the first EU country to ban the sale of disposable e-cigarettes, with the ban taking effect on 1 January 2025 (report). Rechargeable and refillable devices remain on sale under Belgian rules.
France
France adopted a law in early 2025 that bans disposable e-cigarettes (report). French retailers have switched to rechargeable pod systems and refillable kits.
United Kingdom
The UK banned the sale and supply of disposable vapes from 1 June 2025. Reusable and refillable products remain available and must still meet UK limits on nicotine strength and tank size.
What still sells where disposable vapes are banned
In markets with a disposable vape ban, demand moves to devices that can be recharged and refilled. The three best alternatives for shops are:
- Pod systems – compact, rechargeable devices with refillable or replaceable pods. Browse pod systems.
- Replacement pods and coils – repeat-purchase items that keep customers coming back. See coils and replacement pods.
- Nic salt e-liquids – 10 ml bottles in the flavours customers already know. Browse nic salts.
How the bans affect wholesale buyers
If you sell in more than one country, plan orders market by market. A distributor supplying Germany and Belgium, for example, can still stock disposable vapes for German shops but should supply Belgian shops with refillable products only. We flag known restrictions on our country pages for Belgium, France and the United Kingdom, and our team will not ship disposable vapes to countries that ban them.
Stock planning checklist
- List the products you sell per country and remove single-use devices from banned markets.
- Replace them with pod kits plus a matching range of pods and nic salts.
- Keep flavour names consistent so customers can find their favourite in the new format.
- Check national rules again before every large order – they change often.
Which countries could follow?
Other governments have discussed similar measures, and some EU rules on batteries and waste also affect single-use products. Because the situation changes quickly, always check the current law before ordering. The common EU framework for nicotine vapes remains the Tobacco Products Directive; read our summary of TPD vape rules.
Where disposable vapes are still allowed
Most EU markets, including Germany, Poland, Spain and Italy, still allow disposable vapes that meet national rules. Shops there can order from our full range, including TPD 600-puff vapes.

Disposable vape bans: what to do with existing stock
When a country announces disposable vape bans, there is usually a date after which single-use devices can no longer be sold, and sometimes an earlier date after which they can no longer be supplied to shops. Plan orders so that you are not left with stock you cannot sell. Order smaller quantities of disposables as the deadline approaches, and move your best-selling flavours to refillable pod kits and e-liquids so customers can keep buying the same taste.
